About The Position

Manages single large projects or programs of projects that typically have a segmentation rating of 3 or 4, or any project supportive of an EPC Contracting Strategy. Manages the development and delivery of a capital project or program to which he or she is assigned and focuses on the achievement of project cost and schedule objectives while achieving excellence in the areas of project safety and quality. Provides direct management and support to Project Team members throughout the project lifecycle. Works closely with business unit contractor representatives to achieve capital project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years
  • Expert in project and construction management fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to transmission lines and substations.
  • This includes applying principles, techniques and procedures to the design, construction, commissioning and operations of electrical transmission facilities.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of power transmission facilities.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years with at least 5 years of Distribution, Substation, or Transmission experience Required.
  • Field Experience Preferred.
  • PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project.
  • Leads the project team to establish leading indicators and proactive requirements to ensure safety is considered in all aspects of design and implementation for contractors, Entergy project team members, and the end user.
  • Ensures contract scope of work includes safety deliverables/requirements as needed.
  • Defines the project organization structure required for the project and identify the technical skills required to achieve project goals.
  • Works with the appropriate Entergy management to assignment appropriately skilled individuals to the Project Team.
  • Prepares contract and approves requisitions, change orders, etc. and process invoices.
  • Fulfills role of 'Contract Manager' or as Owner's representative as otherwise defined in the project contracts and administer contracts.
  • Issues formal correspondence to Contractors.
  • Leads the project team to develop and execute the Project in accordance with the applicable corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Ensures that team members fulfill the responsibilities as required of their roles.
  • Navigates the project through the Entergy Stage Gate process and coordinate activities to meet the requirements of Entergy's SGP and associated deliverables (estimates, schedules, gates, deliverables, etc.).
  • Oversees the project team in the development of project deliverables.
  • Coordinates the activities of project stakeholders and working groups engaged in project work.
  • Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan and execute the project in adherence with this plan.
  • Establishes and maintains project documentation.
  • Coordinates the efforts of all project participants, including consultants and contractors.
  • Ensures previous projects' Lessons Learned and applicable industry experience is incorporated into the project execution plan.
  • Manages the project in line with the project budget.
  • Ensures project controls are implemented for effectively managing project scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts and communications in accordance with the applicable corporate standards.
  • Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management.
  • Prepares reports and presentations to management.
  • Prepares and issues status reports as required.
  • Identifies, makes timely decisions and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance.
  • Promptly communicates issues to the next level of leadership that are outside the authority capability to resolve.
  • Coordinates with all functional departments as required to achieve the requirements of the applicable corporate standards and to achieve project budget and timeline including CC&A, and Supply Chain.
  • Monitors contractor performance in the area of project safety, schedule, cost, quality of work and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Turns over completed project equipment/systems to the Plant with all necessary documentation, training and instructions
