This state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital is dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of severe injury or illness. Our programs provide specialized care for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. This role is also responsible for accounts payable, monitoring operational efficiencies, and month-end close processes, and may oversee payroll processing for the hospital.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Accounts receivable and general accounting experience required
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, staff, and the public
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • General good health and ability to manage stress effectively
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, and light lifting
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting functions including: Accounts payable and receivable Bank and account reconciliations Journal entries (accruals, recurring) General ledger maintenance Financial analysis and reporting Month-end close activities
  • Maximize collection of payments from patients, insurance carriers, and other sources
  • Identify and mitigate risks within the revenue cycle process
  • Utilize web-based tools and systems to support insurance billing and documentation
  • Accurately review and verify patient billing and charges across multiple systems
  • Assist with audits to identify lost charges and ensure billing accuracy
  • May serve as primary payroll processor, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned
  • Maintains neat, professional appearance and adheres to dress code
  • Complies with all regulatory requirements (state, federal, Joint Commission)
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled
  • Wears identification badge while on duty
  • Participates in in-services and annual competency requirements
  • Maintains positive working relationships with physicians, staff, and departments
  • Represents the organization in a professional and positive manner
  • Complies with policies related to safety, infection control, and emergency management
  • Adheres to ethical business practices
  • Supports and communicates the hospital’s mission, ethics, and goals
