About the position

The Manager, Business Development will be responsible for driving ConGlobal's growth and profitability in depot and outdoor storage space and technology. You will be responsible for building a pipeline of business through existing leads, cold calling, knocking on doors, networking (existing and building new), and growing our market share in, but not limited to Shafter, CA and the surrounding area. This role is responsible for progressing this pipeline through the sales cycle and closing business. You will call on shippers, BCOs, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and asset owners as your primary targets to grow our business.

Responsibilities

  • Grow clients, markets, and profitability / achieve annual business development targets and objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and advance a pipeline that reflects business goals and expectations.
  • Ensure effective control of business development results and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of business development objectives falls within corporate objectives.
  • Use a consultative approach, partner with customers to understand their business objectives and prospect for opportunities, and then develop and deliver solutions that meet those objectives.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships in the provided markets through transportation clubs, industry events, trade shows and conferences, and other networking opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in sales or business development.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan development to close.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving sales targets and growing market share.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of an organization, including executives, senior level management, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to position products & services against competitors.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent quantitative, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Must be able to competently manage competing, multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative and intellectually curious, with a strong work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling to customers in the supply chain (retailers, CPG companies, 3PLs, freight forwarders, etc).
  • Experience selling transportation solutions.
