About The Position

As Manager of Business Development working within our Brokerage one of our entities you will be responsible for management and developing a team of Business Development Representatives fostering strong customer relationships and ensuring alignment with company goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven leadership or team management experience.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, mentor and empower a sales team.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales or account management experience within the freight brokerage or 3PL industry.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced evolving industry and adapt quickly to changing business needs and market conditions.
  • Comfortable with data reporting and metrics to drive performance and accountability.
  • Ability to travel on occasion (less than 10%).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary link between the Business Development team and the Vice President Business Development ensuring clear communication and strategic alignment.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Business Development Representatives by providing daily operational oversight, training, removing roadblocks and performance feedback.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team's portfolio of existing key customer accounts ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts by cross selling and up selling multimodal freight solutions.
  • Promote strong cross functional communication across internal teams to ensure seamless execution of customer solutions and resolve escalated issues promptly.
  • Stay current on industry trends and customer activity to inform strategy and drive improvements.
  • Track, analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales revenue, customer retention and pipeline health.
