About The Position

As a key member of the SAN Commercial Business Unit, the SAN Analytics & Intelligence (SAI) Manager will lead the formation and execution of the SAI Team, a lean, embedded analytics function serving all SAN commercial functions, including Sales, Forecasting, Procurement, Supply Chain, Transportation, Manufacturing, Finance, and Customer Service. This role will work closely with leaders across these functions to deliver fact-based analysis and insight-led recommendations that drive profitable growth for Simmons Animal Nutrition. This position will enable speed and accuracy across teams by eliminating the shadow spreadsheet system, automating reporting cycles, and building real-time dashboards aligned with SAN's ERP cloud migration. The SAI Manager will leverage advanced data and predictive modeling, along with agentic intelligence capabilities, to interpret key findings from internal and external data, driving insights that inform action to support business strategy.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Business Analytics, Sales Analytics, Category Management, or other relevant area.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office applications; advanced skills in Excel required.
  • Comfort with using data mining software.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Marketing, Supply Chain, or other relevant Business discipline or 4 years related work experience.

  • Preference for pet food and/or high velocity consumer packaged goods background.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the SAI Team and Deliver Business Analytics & Insights. Direct the day-to-day work of the SAI Team, including an SAI Business Data Analyst and a part-time Shared Services Data Engineer. Develop and maintain analyses that deliver insights across the SAN BU at both executive summary and individual contributor levels of detail. Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly trends across Customers, Segments, Production locations, and more, highlighting exceptions and surfacing actionable information. Communicate gaps in the plan and work with partners to mitigate. Be both a student and a teacher in the art of storytelling with data, delivering fact-based insights and recommendations from large data sets in a concise, compelling fashion.
  • Develop and Maintain Business Reporting Suite Utilizing Internal and External Data Sources. Serve as the key point of contact for the development and maintenance of new and current reporting and dashboards within SAN. Build, develop, and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that support key business decisions across all eight commercial functions. Oversee the data and report request process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, and approval. Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities. All dashboards will be built on Tableau and/or approved BI dashboards with automated data refreshes, enhanced with agentic intelligence capabilities.
  • Drive ERP Data Validation and Master Data Integrity. Work closely with SAN teams and IT to ensure master data integrity, verifying that the proper data is being captured, extracted, and accessible from the ERP system. Pressure-test ERP master data with reports before go-live to significantly reduce post-launch surprises. Following ERP go-live, deploy an initial batch of SAI intelligence reports with a pipeline of additional reports. Develop a playbook for replicating efforts across Poultry/Prepared Foods to fast-track similar value captures during their migration.
  • Drive Data Governance Within the Division. Implement best practices for data generation, storage, accuracy, and consumption within SAN. Work cross-functionally with IT, BI, and shared services to ensure accuracy in source-of-record systems certified for use across the broader organization. Develop a roadmap for new data source integration with partners to enable blended data sets with automation. Ensure new processes align with the standardization focus of the organization.
  • Accelerate Continuous Improvement and Automation of Reporting, Dashboarding, and Tools. Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modeling, visualization, and communication deliverables. Lead the implementation of multiple sophisticated projects simultaneously, including automating workflows across the SAN team. Identify data source gaps and support efforts to eliminate irregularities, incongruencies, and anomalies with a goal for reduction of manual data entries and near-real time reporting.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Peers within Sales, Demand Forecasting, Procurement, Supply Chain, Transportation, Manufacturing, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure optimal visibility into business performance aligned with cross-functional department needs. Work will be partially routine maintenance, partially request-based on business needs, and partially proactive based on opportunity areas identified by the SAI Manager. Educate and train members across the SAN BU on data structure and tools to drive engagement in self-service analytics.
  • Maintain and Foster Strong Communication and Relationships Across the Organization. Work as an active clearinghouse of ideas, concerns, and activity on behalf of the full commercial team. Act as a champion for the business and team. Act as an idea leader, building compelling and persuasive business cases to ensure alignment, gaining broad-based support and resource allocation for team activities.
  • Participate as a Member of the Team. Participate in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attend appropriate team meetings. Foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Identify areas that lack cohesiveness, bring them to the attention of team leadership, and actively work to resolve issues and achieve synergy within the larger organization.
  • Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives. Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN), including an understanding of this position's role in supporting these systems and a responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
