About The Position

This position is responsible for producing the highest quality birds for processing while maintaining cost efficiency and fostering a highly motivated workforce. Key duties include scheduling birds for processing based on weight requirements aligned with plant needs, communicating effectively with growers, and providing expert advice on management practices. The role also involves monitoring feeding and health programs for broilers, planning vaccination boosting schedules, and reviewing cost reports, plant production metrics, and DOA (Dead on Arrival) rates to compare performance against previous weeks. Collaboration with accounting personnel ensures the accuracy and timely processing of all broiler settlements. Additional responsibilities include leading weekly meetings with broiler technical advisors, working closely with equipment companies to optimize equipment layout for operational efficiency, and performing other duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have commercial-scale broiler production experience and demonstrate strong leadership skills, capable of working with and mentoring supervisors and growers. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with a team-oriented mindset and a willingness to collaborate with peers to achieve the highest quality product at the most cost-efficient level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in commercial broiler production
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including email communication, data entry into templates, and simple query creation
  • Occasional travel required (1 to 5 trips annually)
  • Responsible for supervising a team within a single department or work unit, overseeing personnel performing similar or related tasks
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to teach and guide supervisors and growers
  • Must be an effective communicator and a collaborative team player
