The Bilingual Communications Manager is responsible for supporting the strategies and goals of the Office of Communications as it pertains to bilingual internal and external projects and District-wide initiatives. Provides leadership and bilingual support for departmental services and platform management including translations, social media, media relations, and marketing.

  • Supports the daily operations of the communications team, including the planning, coordination, and implementation of special projects as well as goal setting.
  • Supervises the translation services team under the Office of Communications.
  • Ensures that the Spanish speaking community is informed of current District initiatives and priorities in a timely and equitable manner.
  • Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with departments to develop and implement bilingual communications plans for key initiatives.
  • Translates and interprets district-wide/mass communications, campaigns, plans etc. to ensure information is being disseminated to Spanish speaking stakeholders.
  • Manages and monitors the District's MSCS En Española social media pages, including content creation and posts.
  • Maintains the MSCS Spanish Hub website to ensure it remains up to date with timely information for families.
  • Supports the media relations team by serving as the District's bilingual communications representative for all media outlets; delivers communication in understandable format.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or a related area plus five (5) years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of nine (9) years.
  • Must be fluent in Spanish.
  • Strong Oral proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Seeking verification/confirmation on years of experience for a manager position.
