About The Position

As a Manager Aviation Security Operations, you lead with calm authority and sound judgment in a highly regulated, operationally complex environment, balancing security, efficiency, and service while setting clear expectations and holding yourself and others accountable. You build trust across diverse, often unionized teams and external partners through fairness, transparency, and strong communication, and you remain adaptable and decisive when priorities shift. You think analytically and act proactively—using data, policy knowledge, and operational insight to anticipate risk, improve performance, and ensure compliance—while staying focused on developing people, strengthening systems, and protecting those who rely on safe, seamless airport operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Aviation, or Criminal Justice preferred.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in the military, a security organization, or airport environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aviation and public safety security within a major airport setting, including familiarity with security regulations, Massachusetts criminal law, 501 CMR standards, and security systems such as video surveillance, alarms, and access control.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision‑making capabilities, with proven ability to assess risk, identify mitigation strategies, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consistent leadership and oversight of personnel and operations, ensuring staffing, performance management, and labor‑relations matters are handled in accordance with policy and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, TSA, and organizational security requirements through disciplined oversight, documentation, and quality control.
  • Oversees operational processes and programs with an emphasis on efficiency, standardization, risk identification, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes operational and security data to monitor performance, identify trends, support compliance reporting, and inform management decisions.
