The Automation Manager (AM) is a management position reporting to the Director of Support Services and is responsible for the technical and administrative aspects of all automation systems, passenger boarding bridges, electronic control systems, electro-mechanical control systems, lighting control systems and critical system fields in general for all landside and waterside facilities maintained by the Port. This position will work with the Director of Support Services and Automation Supervisors to oversee and direct employees, provide hands-on management, provide training, and supervision including monitoring compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. Must have demonstrated leadership skills, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to service excellence. The AM is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating activities in support of facilities maintenance and system maintenance including diagnostic review, upkeep, repairs, inventory, and preventive maintenance relating to all Automated Systems which may include areas such as docks, gangways, and mechanical plants. The AM will also schedule and directly manage Automation Controls Technician employees, vendors and contractor work while ensuring all work is performed efficiently, safely, and economically to meet and exceed Canaveral Port Authority operational requirements. This position also interacts with and contributes with all other departments in the infrastructure and design stages of various projects and establishes automation projects with the Facilities department in mind.
