At Walmart, this role sits at the center of one of the largest and fastest-moving grocery supply chains in the world. You will lead automation and capital project work that helps our sites move product faster, improve reliability, and better serve customers every day. This is not a desk-only project role. You will be the point person connecting vendors, operators, site leaders, and cross-functional partners to bring automation projects to life across a network of grocery facilities. In the first few months, success means learning how existing sites and systems operate, building credibility with vendors and field partners, and then taking ownership of projects from planning through implementation. If you are energized by complex operations, field execution, vendor collaboration, and turning data into practical decisions, this role offers the chance to make a visible impact on the future of grocery supply chain automation at Walmart. What you'll do... What You’ll Do In this role, your success will be measured by the outcomes you deliver, the projects you move forward, and the partnerships you build across the network. Within your first 30 days, you will: Learn the automation landscape, process flow, and vendor footprint across entire grocery supply chain. Build working relationships with site teams, operators, and external vendors. Develop an understanding of current systems, building constraints, and in-flight initiatives. Become fluent in how decisions are made, how projects are funded, and how site performance is evaluated. Within your first 60 days, you will: Begin owning projects and key workstreams with increasing independence. Help shape annual operating plans and support implementation of projects already in flight. Identify improvement opportunities across the network using site performance data, customer feedback, and operational insight. Build business case recommendations that quantify impact, cost, timing, and risk. Coordinate timelines, gather field data, and align stakeholders to support precise and effective installs. Within your first 90 days and beyond, you will: Fully own your portion of the business, including planning, communication, execution, and project follow-through. Lead project updates and working meetings with vendors, site leadership, and operations partners. Drive equipment installs and system optimization efforts that improve site performance and the end-customer experience. Present recommendations, tradeoffs, and business case needs to site and operations leadership. Use data, process knowledge, and operational context to influence decisions and improve automation performance across the network. Ongoing responsibilities include: Managing multiple projects with varying timelines in a fast-paced environment. Serving as the main point of contact for vendors, sites, and operators during implementation work. Cultivate relationships across teams and partners to drive exceptional customer service and best-in-class support. Supporting automation design, integration, testing, and deployment activities. Using data analysis and visualization tools to identify trends, test hypotheses, and communicate insights. Improving process flow, documenting implementation risks, and removing barriers to execution. Applying continuous improvement principles such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to drive better outcomes. Partnering cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain, and business stakeholders to deliver results.
