Position: Manager, Automation Engineering Job Location: 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72712 Duties: Leverages data analysis tools to explore moderately complex data, develops & tests hypotheses, uses data to influence strategic work, and builds and presents insights. Identifies, implements, and drives technology change within scope of work. Uses visualization tools to represent data & construct coherent stories to influence decisions. Interprets information to quantify the anticipated outcome of supply chain decisions. Describes the typical tasks associated with using and managing suppliers. Understands issues & considerations for inbound & outbound logistics. Describes basic logistical processes and subprocesses. Uses a variety of business process design tools and techniques. Examines, interprets, & explains workflow materials and documentation. Analyzes a process and associated business logic and offers recommendations based on analysis. Carries out business process design tasks with some supervision and coaching. Documents common obstacles and barriers for effective implementation. Supports the development of business cases and recommendations. Owns the delivery of project activity & tasks assigned by others. Supports process updates and changes. Solves simple business issues. Demonstrates functional knowledge of the business unit/organization being supported. Organizes thoughts and communicates confidently, credibly, & concisely within scope of work. Identifies issues & provides resolutions to problems related to automation machineries. Identifies common issues and considerations for bringing a new automation design to a facility. Works with teams to measure and manage project performance. Documents implementation plans & estimates for projects. Documents project implementation meetings, particularly status reports on next steps. Participates in the development of technology interfaces and bridges. Works with existing interfaces and integration and migration plans within assigned area. Prepares integration tests. Measures & compares results with established test criteria. Identifies the key roles and responsibilities in the group and the career ladder for assigned function. Explains how the concept of a career path can be used to identify future desired roles. Position may work at various unanticipated Walmart locations throughout the U.S. Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or related experience OR 4 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or related experience. Skills required: Must have experience with: developing schedules and detailed implementation plans -project management; developing and presenting visual designs using algorithms and parameters - computational design (AutoCAD); designing robotics solutions-based system requirements-automated system design; observing warehouse operations and making changes to increase productivity using automation design - workflow optimization and design; providing technical expertise for leadership for making decisions for robotics implementation -technical leadership; identifying and addressing potential failures in the robotic system and mitigate risks - risk management DFMEA; analyzing raw data to build robotics implementation business case -data analysis; setting up training and best practice plans to improve system utilization after going live of robotics system - continuous improvement; developing a detailed mathematical model to manage and forecast workforce utilization for deployments - resource management; reporting and tracking robot issues and allowing co-ordination between multiple teams - Jira; and requesting and managing product based on data for procurement, storage and delivery to various sites across network -supply chain management.
