About The Position

The Manager, Auto (Business Development) oversee the Business Advisors team and ensure origination and business performance quotas are met by successfully providing business partners (dealers) with high quality services and support. Integrates Auto to Oriental Bank product line by planning and executing business development strategies. Position works on-site based in San Juan, PR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in lending, credit risk assessment and/or management, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role required.
  • Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
  • Fully bilingual - English and Spanish (written and verbal) required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and other business applications required.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, mathematical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of direct/indirect lending products and practices.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US is required.
  • This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
  • Employee is responsible for maintaining eligible work authorization throughout his tenure with the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • Experience with auto products within a retail or consumer banking environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships having an auto portfolio contributes to the overall bank’s profitability.
  • Work to improve our market position and achieve financial growth defining long-term strategic goals, builds key customer relationships.
  • Identify business current market conditions.
  • Develop and maintain business relations with auto dealers and distributors.
  • Serve as the unit liaison to external customers (dealers) to obtain information on market trends.
  • Track business goals and effectively ensure all are met.
  • Ensure dealer management are aware of goals and monthly meetings are held to discuss progress.
  • Contribute to the establishment of new sales strategies to capture market opportunities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
