About The Position

About the Role The Manager of Audience Insights & Segmentation is responsible for identifying actionable audience insights for Gap Inc’s brands. Sitting within the Marketing Intelligence organization and reporting to the Director of Audience Insights & Segmentation, you will serve as an embedded resource within the brand organizations tasked with leveraging first- and third-party data sets to derive key insights that inspire best-in-class creative development and placement for the brand’s campaign/seasonal and evergreen marketing activities. As a brand-aligned resource, you will serve as the key point person for central and brand-specific marketing teams when it comes to social & search insights, media platform habits & practices, and trends across social media, culture, and entertainment. Specifically, we are looking for someone with strong experience working with video and influencer insights.

Requirements

  • Established marketing experience working with audience insights and segmentation
  • Experience mining social listening, search trends, and cultural & entertainment trends
  • Proven ability to think through data sources and analysis in new and unconventional ways
  • Expertise in crafting a cohesive narrative from multiple data sources
  • Strong understanding of methodology, data, and systems best leveraged for research
  • Diverse-minded, curious, creative and solution-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to generate strategic insights from rigorous analysis
  • Experience in a highly complex, matrixed organization with a proven track record of working cross-functionally to drive change
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage up, down, and across
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work through ambiguity, continuously improve ways of working, and infuse strategic thinking into your work

Responsibilities

  • Leverage disparate data sources (including social chatter, search terms and keywords, platform best practices & case studies, and cultural & entertainment trends) to support brand-specific and Gap Inc marketing initiatives
  • Generate insights from first- and third-party datasets to profile key media audience segments, hindsight marketing activities, and input into strategic, tactical, media, and creative briefings
  • Act as the subject matter expert on social relevance for your assigned brand(s), measuring the success of marketing campaigns and providing a point of view on brand fit for talent and brands being considered for partnerships and collaborations
  • Surface trending themes, formats, and best practices for paid social platforms to inspire better placement and creative development
  • Partner with other Gap Inc insights functions to tell a complete picture of brand audiences, marketing campaigns & collaborations, and product launches
  • Highlight cultural, entertainment, audience, and social media trends, and advocate for an up-to-date understanding of key media audiences
  • Partner with Audience Data Strategy and Gap Inc’s media agency to ensure that key audiences and related strategies are reflective of the current audience insights and definitions
