About The Position

What you'll do... Manager, Assortment Insights Job Requisition What You’ll Do Shape assortment strategy by using customer behavior, channel preferences, and category performance to define what “great” looks like for how the department shows across stores and channels. Conduct advanced insights work including customer segmentation, trip missions, and clustering/localization to reflect diverse customer needs at scale. Develop and evolve Strategy Guides by establishing clear space principles and decision guardrails (e.g., category flow, adjacencies, sightlines, capacity, and footage guidance) that create consistency while enabling smart localization. Generate actionable insights and recommendations by analyzing internal and external data, identifying customer/industry trends, and surfacing performance drivers and market opportunities that inform space and assortment direction. Deliver diagnostics and performance narratives by identifying what is working (and what isn’t), pinpointing root causes, and translating findings into clear actions and priorities. Drive next-generation space thinking by building recommendations for department layouts and future formats, connecting customer needs to improved shopping experience, shop-ability, and productivity. Measure and show impact by defining success metrics, establishing test/control measurement approaches where appropriate, and tracking outcomes to refine strategy over time. Elevate team capability by sharing knowledge, mentoring others, improving ways of working, and raising the bar on insight quality, clarity, and business influence. What You’ll Bring Experience in merchandising, strategy, insights, or analytics with a demonstrated ability to connect insights to business decisions. Strong strategic and analytical thinking, including the ability to synthesize multiple data inputs into a clear point of view and practical recommendations. Ability to influence cross-functional partners through strong storytelling, executive-ready communication, and stakeholder management. Comfort operating in ambiguity with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, able to define structure, drive clarity, and move work forward. Ability to leverage AI to develop repeatable frameworks that scale across teams and categories. Strong learning agility and continuous improvement mindset, ability to influence organizational change toward insight-led decision-making.

Requirements

  • Experience in merchandising, strategy, insights, or analytics with a demonstrated ability to connect insights to business decisions.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, including the ability to synthesize multiple data inputs into a clear point of view and practical recommendations.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners through strong storytelling, executive-ready communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, able to define structure, drive clarity, and move work forward.
  • Ability to leverage AI to develop repeatable frameworks that scale across teams and categories.
  • Strong learning agility and continuous improvement mindset, ability to influence organizational change toward insight-led decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field, OR 4+ years of experience in analytics, merchandising, or insights.
  • 2+ years of experience in Consumer Insights, Category Management, or Strategic Assortment Planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, Marketing, Mathematics, or related field and 2 years’ experience in retail, replenishment, supplier sales, finance, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in retail, replenishment, supplier sales, finance, or related area.
