About The Position

Ensures the security and safety of the company’s assets through the development and implementation of asset protection and safety systems. This includes managing access control systems, alarm systems, video surveillance systems, reporting and documentation systems, and other related security and safety technologies for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Works closely with Asset Protection leadership and other departments within the organization, including IT, operations, and finance, to ensure that asset protection, safety, and fleet systems are in compliance with company policies and procedures. This role requires strong technical and organizational skills and leadership abilities to manage program and Team Member performance effectively.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least five years' experience in retail security/loss prevention, including the use of the Wicklander Zulawski (WZ) interview training program, preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of technology systems related to Asset Protection, Safety, Fleet, and point of sale.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize duties daily, manage multiple investigations/audits, and discern the information given for appropriate next steps.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations.
  • Ability to use strategic thought processes to minimize exposure to emerging threats and trends.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information to identify exceptions and trends signaling potential loss.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify root causes, and develop/implement approved solutions in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to influence activities and results of those who are not direct reports.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to the position such as PCI-DCC and HIPPA.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as the organization requires.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable, for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements asset protection systems, including access control, alarm, video surveillance, and data reporting systems.
  • Monitors and analyzes security trends and data to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Conducts regular assessments of asset protection systems to ensure they function properly and effectively.
  • Manages relationships with external security vendors and service providers.
  • Collaborates with other departments within the organization to ensure that asset protection systems are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provides training and education to Team Members on asset protection, security, and safety protocols.
  • Assists and conducts investigations and respond to incidents related to systems and technology.
  • Develops and maintains systems and documentation for asset protection, safety, and fleet systems.
  • Develops and maintains the budget.
  • Stays up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, recommends upgrades and improvements as necessary.
  • Creates and maintains policies and procedures related to Asset Protection, Safety, and Fleet technology.
  • Monitors the performance of security and related technology systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, access control, and related technology, takes corrective actions as needed.
  • Conducts risk assessments, partners with others as needed to identify potential security vulnerabilities, and develops plans to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that security and technology measures are integrated into the overall business strategy.
  • Executes the business plan and associated programs that will deliver desired shrink, risk, and profit results with the highest service standards.
  • Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members.
