About The Position
The Anoka County Elections Department, part of the Property Records and Taxation Division, is dedicated to providing exceptional services in property tax, land records, vital records, and elections. We are currently seeking an Appraiser Manager to oversee a team responsible for ensuring fair and equitable assessments across Anoka County. This full-time, exempt position is primarily on-site, with the potential for hybrid work arrangements after the probationary period. The Appraiser Manager will play a crucial role in managing the appraisal of commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties, ensuring that all real estate and taxable personal property is accurately classified and valued. This position requires strong leadership skills, as the manager will monitor the performance of Senior Appraisers, provide corrective guidance, and ensure that equalization is achieved across all assessment districts. In addition to managing appraisals, the Appraiser Manager will be responsible for communicating effectively with property owners regarding assessment laws and procedures, handling appeals for the Local and County Board of Appeal and Equalization, and preparing for tax court as necessary. The role also involves reviewing appraisals for accuracy and compliance with regulations, as well as providing mentorship and coaching to subordinate staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate trends and have the ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment. This position offers a competitive salary range of $92,601 to $129,604, along with comprehensive benefits including flexible time off, paid holidays, and professional development opportunities.
