Requirements

• Doctorate degree or Master's degree and 2 years of Life Science Venture Capital / Business Development experience.
• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Life Science Venture Capital / Business Development experience.
• Associate's degree and 8 years of Life Science Venture Capital / Business Development experience.
• High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Life Science Venture Capital / Business Development experience.

Nice To Haves

• Degree in Biotechnology or Life Sciences.
• Two years in an operational venture capital role, or at least 3 years in the biopharmaceutical industry in a business development oriented role.
• Experience in the evaluation and execution of business development deals.
• A demonstrated track record of high performance, academically and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-awareness.
• Working knowledge of software platforms including Microsoft systems (e.g. Licensing Tracker, SharePoint, MS Teams and the MS Office Suite), Smartsheet, Tableau, Miro, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support Amgen BioVentures and Digital Ventures leads in coordinating in-depth scientific and business diligence to develop a strong investment thesis.
• Draft informal and formal investment recommendations for presentation to the Ventures Fund Investment Committee.
• Assist with all aspects of deal process and definitive document preparation where needed.
• Assist with post-deal management, including support of management, company strategy, and follow-on investment where needed.
• Manage daily operations and tracking of active deal diligence.
• Participate in deal negotiations as needed and shepherd deals through approval processes and to closure.
• Assist in management of LP relationships.
• Assist with other fund administrative or operational activities as required by the Amgen Ventures Leadership Team.
