About The Position

Job Details Job Location: Inglewood - Inglewood, CA 90302 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $70,500.00 - $76,000.00 Salary/year Essential Duties and Responsibilities Alumni Engagement Partner with Director of Philanthropy and Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications to create and manage a comprehensive alumni database to capture current contact information, donations, giving capacity, volunteer interest, interactions, and other relevant information. Conduct research and screening to identify notable local Girl Scout alumni to engage with or speak at various council events and programs (in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team) and qualify alumnae prospects with giving capacity for the donor pipeline. Cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni by conducting personalized outreach through phone calls, in-person visits, virtual meetings, and other touch points. Work closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to create innovative strategies to engage with alumni and set quarterly goals and benchmarks to measure success. Lead coordination and execution of alumni events such as networking opportunities, higher awards receptions, reunions, fundraisers, etc. Partner with Fund Development colleagues to identify and cultivate alumni fundraising opportunities including grants, sponsorship, individual and planned giving to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to fundraising and alumni relations. In collaboration with Marketing and Communications develop and manage alumni communications including email newsletters, direct mail, and social media content to keep alumni informed and engaged. Assist with the design and creation of alumni marketing and recognition materials. Working with the Girl and Volunteer Experience team, help to integrate alumni into our mission through mentorship, workshop facilitation, and other volunteer opportunities. Partner with Technology to customize, launch, and promote the GSGLA Alumni App. Monitor and analyze progress and results, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership. Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices related to alumni relations and fundraising, implementing them as appropriate. Conduct research on the latest Girl Scout alumni initiatives through GSUSA and by meeting with alumni counterparts at other large Girl Scout councils around the country. Attend local networking events to share information about GSGLA’s alumni program in an effort to identify and connect with Girl Scout alums. ​​​​GSGLA’s She Leads Event or Equivalent Fundraising Event Manage a targeted portfolio of alumni prospects, as related to ticket and sponsorship sales to achieve event revenue goals. Help prepare alumni invitation mailing and outreach lists and assist with post-event alumni stewardship. In partnership with the Marketing and Communications team, help identify distinguished or high-profile alumni to serve as potential panelists or event speakers. Partner with Director of Philanthropy, Fund Development and Marketing and Communications teams on other event tasks and planning as assigned. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Maintain accurate, up-to-date donor records in the CRM database, including detailed moves management following calls, e-mails, visits, and solicitations. Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor in all interactions. Demonstrate flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience building strong, long-term relationships with alumni, donors, and internal stakeholders. Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques. Exceptional writing skills and project management abilities, capable of multi-tasking under strict deadlines and budget constraints. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database systems; Raiser’s Edge preferred. Experience working with fundraising and social media tools such as iWave, MailChimp, GoFundMe Pro/Classy, and LinkedIn. Highly motivated self-starter with ability to initiate and lead special projects. Reliable and accountable team player. ​​​​​Possess a strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty. Must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to thrive in an ever-changing/fast-paced environment. Ability to spend time sitting, utilizing the computer, and standing and walking throughout the facilities. Ability to travel via personal vehicle or public transportation to various facilities throughout the region. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds periodically. Flexibility to attend evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events. Recommended Education, Training and Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum three years’ professional experience in alumni engagement, fundraising, or public relations. Familiarity with Los Angeles-based community and leadership groups, corporations, and networking organizations.
