The position involves close observation and advisement on plant performance, requiring constant monitoring and problem-solving in the field. The role is not intended to replace PCA’s but to provide support and solutions for in-field plant issues across California. The candidate will also be responsible for staying current with professional societies and vendor solutions, sharing relevant information with colleagues, and fostering collaboration within and beyond the organization. Additionally, the role includes designing and maintaining standards for agronomic data collection and interpretation to improve decision-making processes. Field training and prioritizing impactful agronomic trials are also key responsibilities, along with team development and management duties, including budget management and performance reviews.
