About the position

We are seeking a driven, curious, and high-energy Manager, Actuarial with a solid actuarial background to join our growing Actuarial team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reserve recommendations for assigned books of business using Arius, improving existing tools for creating new ones as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements or analytical enhancements, proactively develop solutions, and secure buy-in from sponsors.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and quality in actuarial analysis and reporting.
  • Provide reinsurance analytical support as needed.
  • Support program reviews and contribute to expanding new segments of the company portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other functional units and act as a liaison between actuarial and data teams.
  • Drive data development and enhancements to internal databases, advancing data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze trends and rates for existing business portfolios.
  • Contribute to building and improving core actuarial services and consulting capabilities.
  • Potential to manage and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • ACAS designation (FCAS preferred).
  • 5-8 years of actuarial experience, with a focus on reserving and data analytics.
  • Proven ability to summarize technical findings for diverse audiences.
  • Successful in identifying key drivers in loss results and trends.
  • Curiosity and creativity in developing practical, innovative solutions.
  • Patience and dedication to mentoring actuarial students and supporting team growth.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
