About The Position

As the Manager, Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the System’s financial accounting activities, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, adhering to regulatory requirements, and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making. This position requires a strong background in healthcare finance, leadership skills, and attention to detail. This role will have direct reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 or more years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in healthcare finance required.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) – Preferred

Responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and healthcare regulations.
Maintaining and reconciling the hospital's general ledger accounts.
Monitoring account activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to senior leadership.
Coordinating annual financial audits and ensuring compliance with healthcare industry regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA.
Addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the department's effectiveness and growth.
Identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance financial controls, and improve efficiency within the department
