About The Position

The Accounting Manager presents a strong opportunity for a senior staff accountant or experienced accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow with the company and help shape accounting processes in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day functions of the accounting department and be responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements, maintain accurate financial records and reporting. The Accounting Manager must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with upper management. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the site Manager Controller with members of the accounting department reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (required)
  • minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (preferably within a public company environment)
  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance requirements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced team environment with evolving processes and priorities.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Handling day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close, while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Actively supporting internal and external audits and compliance efforts, preparing SOX documentation, and working through audit requests, while helping build, document, and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Mentor and supervise accounting staff, conducting performance evaluations and providing training to enhance team skills
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, coordinating the preparation of audit materials and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serving as a flexible, hands-on business partner, investigating and resolving variances, adapting quickly in a fast-paced environment, and working closely with operations and finance leadership to support business needs.
