As the Manager, Accounting you will lead the US Business Resources team supporting Cost and Decision Support for the Drivetrain organization. Drivetrain products are an integral part of Caterpillar machines being assembled and sourced across the globe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 5 (plus) years of previous accounting experience.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
  • Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic cost management and business decision support for the Drivetrain organization.
  • Responsible for developing critical business insights and advising management in a wide range of areas including capital management, NPI, source council, and strategic cost reduction initiatives.
  • Lead a team of three (3) management accountants and dotted-line leadership to three (3) supporting roles in ACOE.
  • Manage team workload, prioritize projects, reviews work.
  • Evaluate staff performance, participate in employee selection, provide career guidance, promote team rewards and seek development opportunities.
  • Provide coaching and motivation to team members on working towards goals and fosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Lead capital management process for supplier tooling and consolidated monthly reporting.
  • Review weekly source council financial analysis.
  • Provide guidance on NPI reporting, partners with product teams and drives alignment on target setting and customer goals.
  • Leads product cost reporting, identifies cost opportunities and supports cost initiatives.
