About The Position

Advantage Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our dynamic and growing accounting team. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and is focused on the operational execution of the month-end close. The Accounting Manager will be a hands-on contributor to prepare and review journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely and accurate close processes. The Company is one of North America's leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
  • 4-6 years experience in relevant field (Process Improvement experience preferred)
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee monthly close activities to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules across multiple business units
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX 404, and internal control requirements
  • Partner with Shared Services, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to resolve issues, validate balances, and ensure alignment of financial results
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to requests, and maintaining proper documentation
  • Identify and implement process improvements, with a focus on standardization and automation to drive efficiency
  • Participate in special projects, including system enhancements, process redesign, and finance transformation initiatives
