About The Position

The Access Manager is responsible for leading operations within the NMHC Access Division, which includes managing registration desks, scheduling, referral services, and financial counseling across the NM System. This role emphasizes patient and customer satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, and the development of organizational talent. The Access Manager ensures compliance with policies and standards while striving for continuous improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care or related field.
  • Progressive leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient problem solving and decision making skills, with ability to confront and resolve issues.

  • Experience with automated call center management, measurement and reporting for Access Managers overseeing contact centers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and monitor the unit or service area's capital and operating budget to achieve defined targets.
  • Recruit and retain staff members consistent with the unit and organization's human resource plan.
  • Develop systems for the responsible use of all hospital and practice resources.
  • Define and advance support systems (Telecom, Scheduling, and Registration) processes in support of departmental, patient, and Access Division needs.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and developed in all aspects of operations to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify internal and external customers and their respective requirements/expectations.
  • Actively seek feedback from customers and implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Translate organizational vision into a unit or service area vision that engages staff.
  • Provide daily feedback to improve performance and self-esteem of staff.
  • Track coaching discussions and actual performance of associates to ensure accountability.
  • Examine ways to improve business relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure measurement and achievement of key performance indicators of the department and devise improvement strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical leadership in the development and implementation of programs/systems.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and take appropriate action based on customer feedback.
