About The Position

The Pharmacy 340B Business Manager will synthesize and analyze all data related to participation in the 340B drug discount program to ensure compliance with the programs and full utilization of the benefits of the 340B program. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the 340B program for Pharmacy Services. Responsible to manage accounts, vendor relationships, inventory, vendor certification and reporting. Plans, develops, implements, monitors and evaluates human and material resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Business, Finance or Healthcare Administration related field required.
  • Pharmacy experience required.
  • Pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in New York State required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience placing and managing pharmacy drug purchases preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience/skill with spreadsheet applications and analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Two years’ experience in an integrated healthcare system preferred.
  • Experience with the 340B drug discount program preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with SQL, SQL Server, or another database program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees globalization and full ownership of hospital account management; serves as primary point of contact for vendors and ensures the effective operation to maximize program revenue potential.
  • Oversees new account set up and maintenance, including monitoring pricing changes to ensure maximum savings.
  • Obtains best drug pricing for purchasing across all system accounts.
  • Oversees the 340B-eligible facilities to verify adherence to the Office of Pharmacy Affairs guidance on the 340B program guidelines and policies.
  • Analyze utilization of the program and existing software to identify ways to compliantly use the 340B program to its fullest extent.
  • Assist in implementing and/or improving use of software packages and other changes in business practice based on changing regulations and policies.
  • Act as a liaison to pharmacy departments in the RRH 340B eligible facilities and with the pharmacy purchasing and contracting departments.
  • Provides pricing education to internal partners on new drugs that come to market.
  • Integrate information from the pharmacy charge master system into the 340B split-billing computer system and incorporate that information into auditable and compliant processes.
  • Integrate information from the facility billing and patient registration processes into the 340B split-billing computer system and incorporate that information into auditable and compliant processes.
  • Work with hospital and outside vendor Information Services to identify and rectify lost charges/dispenses.
  • Propose and implement new operational processes to reduce lost charge capture.
  • Contribute cost-saving initiative plans to Pharmacy team.
  • Plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate human and material resources.
  • Ensure new RRH departments, facilities, and service lines are configured and deployed such that they are able to take full advantage of 340B savings and revenue benefits and meet all 340B program compliance measures.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of select 340B staff.
