The Northrop Grumman Employee Communications team seeks a strategic, relationship-driven leader, Manager 2, Employee Communications, to drive connection between enterprise-level communications and the work happening across our sectors. This newly created role serves as a key integrator, ensuring alignment of priorities, processes, and storytelling across the Employee Communications Center of Practice (CoP). Reporting to the Vice President of Employee Communications, this position is based in Falls Church, VA. This is not a remote position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in Communications or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven success developing and executing integrated communications strategies.
  • Experience leading complex, business-driven communications projects and collaborating across matrixed environments.
  • Executive-level writing and advising skills, with a systems-level mindset.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Experience in employee or executive communications; media relations experience a plus.
  • Experience partnering with C-suite and senior leadership teams.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on collaboration and team development.

Nice To Haves

  • Communications and leadership experience within large, complex organizations.
  • Familiarity with digital tools including SharePoint, Teams, and Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

  • Connect enterprise and sector communications efforts to ensure a unified employee experience—linking strategies, processes, and messaging for consistency and clarity across the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic counsel and high-quality communications support.
  • Collaborate with Employee Communications directors to shape narratives that connect employees to Northrop Grumman’s mission, strategy, and values.
  • Drive the creation and standardization of communications materials including strategic communication plans, executive messaging, presentations, toolkits, and templates.
  • Coordinate across all Communications CoPs to streamline communications planning, resource sharing, and measurement of outcomes.
  • Leverage digital and non-digital channels (intranet, Teams, signage, events, etc.) to reach a variety of different audiences and reinforce consistent messaging.
  • Use analytics and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and improve strategies over time.
