About The Position

As a Management Trainee, you will participate in the Operations Management Trainee Program. This is an entry-level training position consisting of an intensive 16-week program designed to prepare you for an initial leadership/supervisory role in operations. Under the direction of a mentor, your primary responsibility is to learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross-dock operations, effective leadership communication, and relationship-building skills. Upon completion of the program, relocation to another facility for your first leadership role in Operations will be required. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or alternatively, at least two years of related work experience
  • An acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards
  • Flexibility with a readiness to relocate as needed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
  • Basic computer skills
  • Very strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Learn the basic principles of the transportation industry
  • Learn efficient cross-dock operations
  • Learn effective leadership communication
  • Learn relationship building skills
  • Complete the leadership training program requiring guided, independent study
  • Interface with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates in the completion of various aspects of the training program daily
  • Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls
  • Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to garner an understanding of the freight delivery process on occasion
