The Management Trainee Program at Buckle is designed to cultivate the next generation of retail leaders. As a Management Trainee, you will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to enhance your sales, recruiting, and leadership skills, preparing you for a future role as a Store Manager. This position involves training and motivating team members, managing various operational tasks, and ensuring exceptional customer service while acting as the Store Manager in their absence.

  • Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend and help locate merchandise based on guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and share it with the team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies.
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Develop skills to lead, direct, and motivate new teammates.
  • Assist Store Manager with coaching and counseling teammates.
  • Actively recruit for the store and participate in interviews.
  • Develop skills to create visual displays based on guidelines.
  • Maintain store standards of excellence at all times.
  • Set goals and expectations for the Management Trainee Program.
  • Review completed assignments with the District Manager.
  • Establish relationships with Area Manager and District Manager.
  • Complete store opening and closing procedures accurately.
  • Implement Buckle developments with Store Manager's direction.
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and operational duties in Store Manager's absence.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Communicate store repair needs to Store Manager.
  • Handle emergencies in Store Manager's absence according to guidelines.
  • Provide feedback regarding merchandise handling concerns.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred or equivalent retail experience.
  • 1-3 months related retail experience or training.
  • Experience in retail sales or customer service.
