Administration of Human Resource Programs

The Management & Program Analyst serves as the Cancer Program Manager at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, responsible for managing oncology data in accordance with VA national requirements and Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation standards. The role involves monitoring quality of care, clinical practice guidelines, and adverse outcomes, while providing benchmarking services and ensuring compliance with established standards.

  • Plan and develop priorities, standards, and working guides for cancer program activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Cancer Committee meetings to monitor compliance with CoC standards.
  • Prepare quarterly meeting agendas, minutes, and summary reports for the Medical Executive Council.
  • Monitor Cancer Committee required member reports for compliance with VHA Directives and CoC standards.
  • Review guidelines and directives issued by governing agencies to ensure facility-wide compliance.
  • Track and analyze data from the oncology patient registry database and other web-based programs.
  • Monitor and analyze data quality and information relevant to cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and disease surveillance.
  • Monitor costs of operations when contract services are utilized.
  • Interpret and present data from various federal and non-federal sources.
  • Provide technical advice on utilization patterns, clinical outcomes, performance measures, patient demographics, and costs of services.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-09 level.
  • Education may substitute for experience: Ph.D. or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education.
  • Combination of education and experience may also qualify.
  • Experience in cancer program management.
  • Familiarity with VHA Directives and CoC standards.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
