Under general direction from the Business Operations Manager, this position is responsible for assisting all store managers in the hiring and onboarding processes. The role requires providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment through the facilitation of the sales, auction, and appraisal processes. This includes managing cash, processing and auditing paperwork associated with sales, and addressing customer inquiries effectively. The Associate will coordinate the employment process for job applicants visiting the CarMax location, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both applicants and hiring team members. This involves scheduling interviews, maintaining applicant files, and greeting candidates upon their arrival. Additionally, the Associate will oversee the new associate orientation process, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and timely, and that new hires are trained on necessary systems such as Workday and Kronos. In addition to hiring and onboarding responsibilities, the Associate will perform various Business Office functions as directed by the Business Operations Manager or Manager on Duty. This includes providing customer service, processing paperwork related to automobile sales, managing multiple pay types, and handling DMV-related paperwork. The role also involves mentoring new Business Office Associates and training other store departments on Business Office processes. The work environment is described as pleasant but noisy, with numerous distractions and disruptions due to incoming communication. Associates may be required to walk or stand for extended periods and work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
