About The Position

The Management and Program Analyst will serve as a key advisor to the Director and senior leadership of the Sciences and Exploration Directorate (SED) at NASA. This role involves supporting personnel management, administrative policy, and workforce development, ensuring effective operations within the Directorate. The analyst will engage in strategic planning, workforce strategy, and program management, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion while managing various administrative functions.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, providing advice on workforce planning and personnel programs.
• Experience in monitoring administrative practices to ensure consistency across the Directorate.
• Ability to apply workforce and performance management analytical methods to recommend appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership regarding workforce strategy and personnel matters.
• Participate in strategic planning and analyze requirements based on organizational priorities and programmatic needs.
• Coordinate the strategic hiring of employees, interns, and post-docs, including recruitment and retention strategies.
• Manage assignments, problem-solving activities, and program/project issues, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Lead a team of Administrative Officers to develop guidance and coordinate responses to administrative actions.
• Manage the awards and training program and budget for the Directorate, advising supervisors and maintaining records.
• Monitor the impact of new programs and legislative changes on existing programs and resources, presenting findings through reports and presentations.
