About The Position

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing Managed Services Provider. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Level 2 Support Engineer, with a focus on compute and storage, to join our dynamic IT team. This individual will be customer-facing and responsible for working on a shift team to provide 24x7x365 support for large, complex global enterprise IT infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for resolving Critical Severity issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues related to compute and storage systems. This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on compute and storage systems.
  • Proficiency in server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), and storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Linux Unix experience.
  • Prior experience with Dell Isilon, Avamar, PowerScale, PowerFlex, and PowerMax products.
  • Prior experience with LogicMonitor, New Relic, DataDog, Big Panda, DynaTrace, or similar technologies.
  • Certifications from EMC, Dell, HPE on Storage Compute technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
  • Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience producing business relevant presentations and technical oriented writing.
  • Knowledge of IT governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 support for compute and storage-related issues, including server hardware, virtualization, cloud services, and storage solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems escalated from Level 1 support, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches on compute and storage systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of support activities, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and availability, proactively addressing potential issues before they impact users.
  • Provide guidance and training to Level 1 support staff to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring end-user satisfaction and maintaining a positive relationship with clients.
