The Managed Device Systems Administrator is a front-line, hands-on support expert for the school. The primary function of this role is to provide timely and effective on-site technical support for all Apple and Google technologies and to proactively manage the entire lifecycle of all end-user devices at Orangewood. This individual is responsible for the configuration, deployment, monitoring, and security of the school's device fleet. They ensure that all managed devices are stable, secure, and optimized to provide a reliable technology experience for students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities: Device Lifecycle Management · Device Provisioning & Configuration: Setting up and configuring mobile devices for new users and ensuring proper integration with enterprise systems. · Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of a device, from deployment to retirement, which includes device updates, patch management, and inventory tracking. System Monitoring & Stability · System Monitoring: Proactively monitoring device performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing preventative measures to ensure system stability and efficiency. · Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of system configurations, procedures, and changes to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing. User Support & Troubleshooting · Support & Troubleshooting: Responding to user-reported issues, diagnosing and resolving problems with devices and their associated applications, and providing ongoing support. · Provide technical assistance to all personnel as a primary point of contact for device-related issues. Technical Knowledge & Experience · MDM Platforms: Expertise with mobile device management (MDM) solutions for managing various mobile and endpoint devices. Active Directory, Google Admin, Microsoft 365, Jamf, and Azure proficiency. · Operating Systems: Proficiency with common operating systems used on managed devices, such as iOS, Windows, and macOS. · Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of network protocols and how devices connect to the network to facilitate troubleshooting. · Security Protocols: Knowledge of security best practices, including firewall configuration, anti-malware deployment, and email security. Profile & Automation: Familiarity with creating profiles for automating repetitive tasks, which can improve efficiency. Supplemental Functions: · Drawing from one’s calling, use their personal gifts and talents to further the Kingdom of God. · Serve as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus to the school community and beyond, through actions, speech, and attitude. · Perform other duties, as assigned.   • Minimum 3 years of experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM) in an education or enterprise environment.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred; relevant Apple certifications accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with Apple School Manager is highly desired.
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or JAMF Certified Associate/Tech preferred.
  • Deep understanding of iOS/iPadOS and macOS.
  • Proficiency with MDM platforms (JAMF, Mosyle, etc.), mass deployment workflows, and inventory management.
