About The Position

The Second In Command (SIC) reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during flight. The home base for this position is St. Petersburg, Florida (PIE), and the incumbent must reside within that region. The SIC assists the PIC in preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. This role involves safe and efficient flight operations for domestic trip assignments operating under Part 135 regulations while maintaining a high level of customer service. The position requires adherence to company procedures manuals, maintaining a current first-class medical certificate, and notifying the company of any medical conditions that may impair flight duties. A high degree of professionalism, coordination, and leadership of the crew is expected, including greeting passengers, assisting with seating and luggage, conducting passenger briefings, and responding to passenger requests/needs.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of FAR Part 135, FAA, ICAO, and international flight operations regulations
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems and limitations
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet objectives without supervision
  • Skilled in resolving technical issues, interpreting technical documentation, and applying procedures effectively
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities
  • Proficient in using word processing, email, and web-based/mobile applications
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to teamwork and professionalism
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards
  • ATP complete
  • FAA First Class Medical
  • Appropriate Type Rating and current – Citation XLS
  • Minimum 2,000 hours Total Time (Fixed Wing)
  • Minimum 200 hours of Multi-Engine Time
  • Valid Passport
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to/from Canada as a commercial pilot
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and provide two forms of Federal Identification
  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient flight operations for domestic trip assignments operating under Part 135 regulations while maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Adhere to the duties and responsibilities stated in all company procedures manuals
  • Maintain a current first-class medical certificate as required by policy and notify the company if a medical (physical or mental) condition may impair the ability to perform flight duties
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ability to coordinate and lead the crew
  • Greeting of passengers, assistance with passenger seating, and luggage storage
  • Conduct passenger briefings and respond to passenger requests/needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
