About The Position

As a Mammography Technologist at Parkland Health and Hospital System, you will play a crucial role in providing quality breast imaging services to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform routine to complex mammography procedures in accordance with the standards set by PHHS, as well as state and federal regulations. This position requires a commitment to patient care, ensuring that each patient feels comfortable and informed throughout their imaging experience. You will be part of a dedicated team that has been serving the community for over 125 years, where your skills will contribute to the health and well-being of individuals and communities. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating patient history and physician orders to ensure that appropriate procedures are performed. You will also assist physicians in special procedures as needed, ensuring that all imaging is conducted to the highest standards. Quality control is a key aspect of your duties, as you will be required to process checks on systems in accordance with the American College of Radiology guidelines. Maintaining accurate documentation on the Radiology Information System is essential to track the procedures performed on each patient. Effective communication is vital in this position. You will need to inform patients about the procedures being performed, ensuring they are as comfortable as possible. Building positive relationships with employees, medical staff, patients, and visitors will be crucial for efficient work processes. Additionally, you may be responsible for training and supervising radiologic students, ensuring they receive the education and training necessary in the mammography area. Staying current with the latest developments in mammography is essential. You will be expected to attend seminars, read professional journals, and maintain your ARRT certification and Texas State licensure.
