About The Position

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. The individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. Requirements

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography.
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible.
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred.
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.
  • Prior quality control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate x-ray equipment and perform a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
  • Understand, promote, and demonstrate the Solis Way.
  • Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique.
  • Effectively communicate procedures to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions.
  • Maintain a patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
