Requirements

Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program in a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Complete a 40-hour specialized Mammography course and be eligible for the Mammography registry.
Advanced certification in Mammography is required within one year of hire.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and diagnostic mammography exams while adhering to all MQSA and ACR regulations.
Perform quality control functions related to mammography and DEXA.
Perform a variety of tasks involving operating of mammography/ radiographic equipment and other devices as necessary.
Calculate appropriate exposure factors and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
Maintain organized patient records.
Assist Radiologists and other health care practitioners with invasive procedures.
