Performs imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries and supports the general operation of the office. The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. This position is critical to Solis Mammography; by providing outstanding care and efficient results, the technologist impacts the profitability of the organization as well as the patient experience. Requirements

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT
  • High School Diploma
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred
  • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred
  • Prior quality control experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
  • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique
  • Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions
  • Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
