Essential Functions Performs a variety of mammography procedures Ensures that diagnostic quality mammograms are accurately produced according to established protocols. Selects appropriate exposure factors and positioning techniques. Adjusts techniques for optimum mammogram and the lowest dose achievable. Follows radiation safety techniques to conform to ALARA. Performs and documents quality control measures on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Implements corrective action if required. Maneuvers patients into the correct position for mammography procedures. Uses and adjusts immobilization and supportive devices to ensure patient safety, precise positioning and to minimize patient discomfort. Ensures all documentation is accurate prior to the start of a procedure. Provider’s orders are checked to confirm the exam ordered matches exam to be performed. Verifies patient ID per Community Health Center’s procedures Maintains all logs and tracking documentation related to mammography, to include the medical outcomes log. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of MQSA standards and ensure adherence in all aspects of mammography practice. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all mammography procedures, including quality control (QC) test, in accordance with MQSA regulations. Ensure compliance with EQUIP (Enhancing Quality Using the Inspection Program) requirements and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrating experience with the accreditation process, including knowledge of ACR and FDA guidelines. Ensures that all patient data and required technical data are entered accurately into computer system. Inputs patient charges accurately. Prints films and burn CDs as needed. Maintains inventory of supplies. Informs clinic supervisor of needed supplies as necessary. Uses equipment safely and as directed by policies and instruction. Reports any identified equipment breakdown or malfunction to the Manager of Radiology. Maintains cleanliness of equipment after use. Follows and adheres to all aspects of the Health Care District’s Code of Conduct. Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
