About The Position

Provides high‑quality patient care while performing mammography imaging services and related procedures. Applies x‑ray energy to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles, regulatory requirements, and Orlando Health standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must maintain CME credits as mandated by MQSA.
  • Valid Florida Radiologic Technologist license.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor consistent with quality patient care.
  • Complies with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses patients’ physical condition and age‑specific needs.
  • Provides clear instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired imaging results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, obtains clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Positions patients, equipment, and associated devices; adjusts technical factors to produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
  • Evaluates diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and complete breast anatomy per MQSA/ACR guidelines.
  • Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Utilizes the Radiology Information System to accurately document arrival, completion of exams, procedure coding, and report retrieval.
  • Uses sterile technique for applicable procedures per Orlando Health policy and training.
  • Provides medical assistance as required during emergencies.
  • Complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control activities.
  • Applies standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures the safety of all patients, visitors, and team members.
  • Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, departmental guidelines, and education requirements.
