About The Position

AMI is seeking a Full time, 40 hour per week Mammography Technologist to join the team in the Toms River office locations! This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient radiology practice. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience. The Mammography Technologist is responsible for but not limited to: Performs mammography examinations according to the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and ACR guidelines. Assists patients on and off table and uses appropriate lift-assist devices as warranted. When indicated, performs Biopsy examinations according to the technical and clinical standards. Performs and maintains aseptic technique standards. Performs Dexa scan examinations. When indicated, performs Radiology imaging exams. Utilizes Mammography tracking system programs. Ensures high-quality images through proper positioning, technique, and equipment operation. Clearly and concisely explains procedures to patients using layman’s terms, educates them about the process, and addresses any questions or concerns to ensure understanding. Utilizes instructional information and methods as established by the management. Provides informal supervision and guidance to non-technical personnel assigned to the work area. Operates all departmental clerical equipment, including the computerized information system and copy machines, to ensure that office recordkeeping and documentation are accurate, timely, and easily accessible. Performs quality assurance, testing and documentation in accordance with NJ department of Environment Protection and MQSA standards. Performs all other duties as assigned to support optimal radiologic care, efficient and orderly flow, and safe, smooth daily operations. This 40 hour per week position will be based in AMI's Toms River office locations (Route 37 West, Hooper Avenue, and Toms River Women's Center). The work schedule includes: Monday, Thursday, and Friday: 7am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, or 8am-4:30pm Tuesday & Wednesday, 10am-6:30pm Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates are graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and are registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Mammography (M).
  • Candidates must have a current and valid Radiologic Technologist license in the State of NJ.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross CPR/BLS certification required prior to start of employment.
  • Must have full knowledge of all aspects concerning radiation protection.
  • Must be willing to receive training in Dexa and Biopsy procedures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication, both in person and on the phone, with a focus on the patient experience is required for success in the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Dexa experience preferred.
