About The Position
Mammography Technologist - Part-time/Evenings - Naperville Position Highlights: Part-Time, 20 Hours Hours: Monday-Friday, 4:00-8:00pm Location: Naperville, IL Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance and medical coverage at 100% (after deductible) when utilizing a Duly provider. $2,625 Tuition Reimbursement per year. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
- Active ARRT certification status maintained by fulfilling continuing education requirements.
- Illinois State Licensure (IEMA)
- CPR Certification
- Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to present required.
- Knowledge of computer-based applications, email and standard applications such as Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge and skills of a mammography technologist and can perform the daily tasks and duties of a technologist, including patient care and completion of clinical exams
Nice To Haves
- Mammography experience preferred but not required
- Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner. Follow department protocols and specific radiologist direction.
- Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure; assuring information is documented in accordance with the department's standards.
- Prepare patient for procedures; providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
- Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest. Explain the need for breast compression while respecting the patient's ability and comfort.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
- Experience with stereotactic biopsies and/or willing to be trained to assist with this procedure
- Participates in staff meetings with employee involvement
- Maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, physicians, and other health care team members
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Maintains confidentiality with others regarding patient and organizational information
- Maintenance of supplies needed to ensure adequate levels within the department.
