About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging and assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient care and safety in a clinical imaging environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • If licensed after April 28, 1999: Must have 40 hours of documented mammography training (including breast anatomy, positioning, compression, QA/QC, and imaging patients with implants)
  • Documentation of: 25 supervised mammograms
  • 8 hours of digital/tomosynthesis mammography training
  • 15 mammography-specific CEUs within the last 3 years
  • ARRT (R) – Radiography
  • ARRT (M) – Mammography
  • Certified Mammographer
  • Active Ohio State License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • Minimum 1 year of mammography experience
  • Proficiency in operating mammography and ultrasound equipment
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and imaging protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance standards
  • Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain patient privacy and reduce patient anxiety

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality mammography imaging in accordance with established standards
  • Operate mammography and ultrasound equipment to produce accurate breast images
  • Assist radiologists with procedures such as cyst aspirations, needle localizations, and biopsies
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety and infection control protocols
  • Accurately document patient history, imaging details, and procedural notes
  • Maintain and track exams in Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
  • Verify all patient and imaging information for accuracy
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain exams to ensure comfort and understanding
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging equipment and work areas
  • Support patient mobility and ensure safety during procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns professionally and with empathy
  • Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, and record management
