WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Mammography Technologist , Full-time Location: Onsite Bedford Park Days/Hours: Monday- Friday, hours vary between 7:00 am - 6:00 pm WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE: Document the medical history of the patient prior to any examination Maintains cleanliness of room, sterilize mammographic equipment and keep adequate stock of supplies on hand Carefully position patient in order to obtain correct imaging, ensuring patient is comfortable and safe throughout procedure Explain imaging procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation, address any patient questions and concerns Maintains quality of mammographic equipment by following company standards and procedures, and promotes continuous quality improvement Follow company procedural protocol and standards maintaining production and quality mammograms Evaluate and interpret captured images effectively Accurately document mammogram data into patient's chart According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a Mammography Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician Provide education, training and direction to new technologists Perform all other duties as assigned Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • AART Radiography certification and current ARRT registration
  • ARRT Mammography certification and current ARRT registration preferred
  • 40 hours advanced training in a MQSA approved program and 25 supervised exams in mammography
  • Maintain required mammography continuing education as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act
  • Previous experience desired in a diagnostic radiology/imaging setting
  • IEMA Licensure
  • CPR-BLS Certification
  • Quick, accurate decision making
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environment with ability to perform effectively under stressful situations
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly motivated and organized
  • Technical, skilled expertise and extensive knowledge in mammographic technology
  • Effective, composed communication for positive and effective patient interaction
  • Interpersonal skills, amiable demeanor with passion and sensitivity towards patient care

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT Mammography certification and current ARRT registration preferred
  • Previous experience desired in a diagnostic radiology/imaging setting
