About The Position
The Mammography Technologist performs mammography exams, screenings and diagnostic studies, and assists during invasive procedures. Via these procedures and under the direction of the physician, the Mammography Tech detects breast tissue abnormalities and presents them to the physician for diagnosis. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.
Requirements
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of post registry preferred
- ARRT Mammography certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Responsibilities
- Explains radiographic procedure to the patient and collects accurate patient history.
- Properly enters patient and exam data into the Radiology Information System.
- Assists Radiologists with invasive procedures as needed.
- The Mammography Tech performs mammography exams, screening and diagnostic studies, and operates imaging equipment to assist the Radiologist in the diagnosis of disease.
