Job Summary The Mammography Technologist II performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures to aid in the detection and treatment of breast diseases. This role requires advanced technical skills, adherence to FDA/MQSA, ACR, and state regulatory standards, and a strong commitment to patient safety and care. The Mammography Technologist II ensures high-quality imaging, maintains compliance with quality control protocols, and provides patients with education and support throughout the imaging process. Schedule: Full-Time, Mon-Fri, requires covering 2 Mammography locations on hospital campus

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in mammography or diagnostic imaging required
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required
  • ARRT Radiography Certification required and
  • (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required

Responsibilities

  • Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms, using proper positioning, compression, and technique to ensure high-quality imaging.
  • Ensures compliance with radiation safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and patient privacy regulations.
  • Verifies and updates PACS and RIS systems, ensuring patient records and images are properly documented and stored.
  • Maintains and operates mammography equipment, conducting quality control checks to meet ACR and MQSA requirements.
  • Ensures all patient procedures are correctly ordered, verified, and acknowledged, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Prepares patients for mammography exams and invasive procedures, providing clear instructions and post-procedure guidance.
  • Assists radiologists by obtaining additional imaging views as needed for diagnostic evaluation.
  • Practices appropriate protocols for self-requesting mammography patients where applicable.
  • Stocks, cleans, and maintains exam rooms, mammography supplies, and emergency equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains all documentation for FDA inspection to ensure compliance with MQSA regulations for facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
