In this role, you’ll perform high‑quality screening and diagnostic mammography, guided procedures, specimen imaging, and bone density scans providing clarity, comfort, and confidence during some of our patients’ most vulnerable moments.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Allied Health
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Meet the minimum continuing educational requirements established by the state of Ohio
  • Maintain ARRT and ODH licensure
  • Mammography certification is required within 12 months of employment within this modality
  • Strong verbal and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with patients in a fast-paced environment
  • Adhere to the Practice Standards defined by the ASRT

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography, guided procedures, specimen imaging, and bone density scans.
  • Perform imaging to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.
  • Maintain annual competencies in areas of imaging.
  • Maintain accurate records and document in the EMR.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members, including breast radiologists and breast surgical practice.
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control required for FDA/ACR.
  • Work effectively with patients and families to provide patient care.
  • Comply with infection prevention procedures.
  • Provide student education and orientation of new employees.
  • Ensure operation of mammography equipment by adhering to standard operating procedures, troubleshooting, and reporting malfunctions to leadership.
  • Assist clerical staff in the maintenance of records and files.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Provide for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
  • Consistently produce and evaluate screening and diagnostic mammography for radiological interpretation.
  • Demonstrate organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department.
  • Demonstrate competency and knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures.
  • Select proper imaging protocols and follow departmental procedures.
