Job Summary Responsible for performing a variety of technical activities related to screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Experience in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies' rules and regulations
  • 2-3 years required
  • Needs to be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, understand the differences in female growth and development, and look for signs of normal aging, degree of understanding, and physical limitations related to age.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Radiologic Technologist and Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

  • Mammography [R.T.(M)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks involving the operation of mammographic and related imaging equipment.
  • Positions patients accurately and applies immobilization techniques when necessary.
  • Selects appropriate imaging modes and exposure factors to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Evaluates images for diagnostic accuracy and obtains additional views as required.
  • Prepares and sets up exam rooms and medical supplies, following aseptic techniques.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment and exam rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Maintains adequate stock of supplies and ensures readiness of exam rooms.
  • Explains procedures clearly to patients and provides support throughout the process.
