About The Position

The Mammograpy Technologist Certification Pending reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Sign-On Bonus: We are extending a $5,000 sign-on bonus to full-time external Mammography Technologists hired at Northwestern Memorial Hospital! This bonus is payable in one installment following the new employee's start date and has 12-month repayment terms associated.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography (M) within one year of hire
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing digital mammography exams on patients under the supervision of a certified mammography technologist.
  • Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
  • Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
  • Applies professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
  • Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
  • Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
  • Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
  • Assist with patient positioning, lifting, and transport to and from imaging areas as needed
  • Adheres to the Mammography Training Clinical Competency curriculum provided by NM.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
  • Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements
  • Completed an accredited didactic training program that follows MQSA and ACR requirements for Mammography.
  • Completes Mammography Registry exam within 1 year of hire.
